"Electronic Goes Benefit" was a charity event held in january 1989 to create money for the "Planetarium am Insulaner" in Berlin-Schoeneberg. Its cupola was burned down by a fire one year before. So Bernd Kistenmacher created together with Mario Schönwälder (who also performed there) this event and played 3 shows. Especially for this event, Bernd Kistenmacher composed his famous track "Ferne Ziele" (you can find a shorter studio version of this track on his solo-album "Kaleidoscope"). The encore of this concerts was "Shimmering Blue In An Artificial Sky" (separately released on the album "Compiled dreams". For this download , we put all things together and you can download now the complete full-length version of "Electronic Goes Benefit" with the original version of "Ferne Ziele" plus encore!
"Ferne Ziele" was later released in 1999 on CD as part of the "My Little Universe" CD-collection with the encore.
We present the Bernd Kistenmacher Classic Collection in its original versions. No audio manipulations or remixes has been done. A must have for purists and collectors.

For me, this is arguably ARC's best album, all of them being live, this is the only one that has edited out the applause between songs, something better suited for capturing the feel of a rock concert, but for ambient music can be quite jarring. Favorite track: Cherry Bomb. Paul Asbury Seaman
